Hello everyone and welcome to Year 1!

What a fantastic start to the academic year we have had this week! Even though it has only been a few days, the children have already settled really well into Year 1.

The children are all becoming familiar with the new class routines. This week, Mrs Nicolini and I conducted our reading and phonics assessments in order to ascertain your child's current levels.

The children also learnt about our class saint, Saint David. We also looked at having a growth mindset and began our PSHE topic, Being Me in My World.

Thank you to those of you that attended our 'Meet the Teacher' session today. I hope it was informative and as requested by some parents at the end of the session, I have added the phase 3 and phase 5 phonics mats for you to support your child at home.
