Admissions Arrangements
2026 – 2027
OPEN MORNING
Tuesday 20th October 2026
Time: 10am
For all prospective new parents who will be
applying for a Reception school or Nursery
place to start in September 2027.
There will be an opportunity to view the school in action and to meet with the Headteacher and the Foundation/Early Years Teams.
Reception and Nursery applications open on
Monday 2nd November 2026 and close on Friday 15th January 2027.
Supplementary Information Forms will be available to collect on the open day. However, please note completed forms and supporting documentation cannot be submitted to the school office until Monday 2nd November 2026.
In addition to submitting the Reception Supplementary Information Form, parents must also apply online through Hertfordshire County Council via www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions
Reception 2027 applies to children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.
Nursery - September 2027
Nursery applications should be made directly through the school.
Supplementary Application Forms and supporting documentation should be submitted to the school office before Friday 15th January 2027.
Nursery 2027 applies to children born between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024.
Please note: We are a 30-hour childcare provider and welcome applications from all children aged 3+ and of all faiths to our Nursery.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.
An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to;
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Royal Avenue, Waltham Cross, Herts, EN8 7EN
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2025 -2026, will be applied as detailed in our Admissions Policy.
Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

Admissions Arrangements
2026-2027
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School consulted on their Admission Arrangements for the Academic Year 2026/2027.
The changes in place are now as follows:

Alteration of wording where the policy is managed by St Joseph's Catholic Primary School to the St Francis of Assisi (SFOA) Catholic Academy Trust. This means all Primary Schools within the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust will be adopting the same Admissions Policy, using the same over-subscription criteria.

The addition within each category of the over-subscription criteria of a third prioritisation point, covering children of members of staff.
