Safer Internet Day 2024

This week in St Joseph's, we celebrated Safer Internet Day.  KS1 began the day with an assembly all about how to stay safe online, for example when using a tablet.  Then, in Early Years, children discussed what they might be using a tablet for such as games, stories and watching programmes.  They then designed their own tablets with the icons they would use.  Year 2 used a Purple Mash activity about Jaz and Mo and the problems they encountered whilst watching a video online when a new video began after the one they were watching.  They then updated their class charter on online safety.  In Key Stage 2, children reflected on the different ways to keep themselves safe, such as keeping personal details private, who a trusted adult is and that they should all be using age appropriate apps and games.  In Years 5 and 6, children designed posters about internet safety to be displayed in the computing room and created their own online safety raps.
