Prayer and Liturgy
Prayer and Liturgy
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, prayer and liturgy are at the heart of our school community. They provide opportunities for our children and staff to come together, reflect on God’s Word and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Through our daily prayer and liturgical celebrations, we encourage our children to develop a deep and personal faith, whilst understanding the importance of prayer in our everyday lives. Our children are given opportunities to pray individually and collectively, in the classroom, during assemblies and through whole-school celebrations.
We celebrate Mass together as a school community, marking the important seasons and celebrations of the Church’s year. We are also fortunate to welcome Father John, our Parish Priest, who supports us in our prayer and liturgical life.
Our children are encouraged to take an active role in prayer and liturgy, including leading prayers, readings, reflections, music and liturgical celebrations. Through these experiences, they develop confidence and a deeper understanding of their role within our Catholic community.
We also recognise that prayer can take many forms. Our children are encouraged to experience moments of stillness, reflection, thanksgiving and contemplation, allowing them time to listen to God and consider how they can live out the teachings of Jesus.
Through prayer and liturgy, we strive to create a loving, welcoming and prayerful community where faith is lived, celebrated and shared each day.
“Let everything you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
He brings us healing and offers us forgiveness. We remember Christ's words: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:20)
