It is time to celebrate some Arts Awards children have been working towards both in and out of school. We were very proud to be awarded a Bursary to explore how Arts Awards could be used in school.

During the summer term, 10 children worked towards Arts Award “Explore.” We discovered that Arts Awards could be delivered to both children in school and also remotely to children learning at home.

The children at school took part in a project with artist Justine Van de Weg from The Arts College.  Justine recorded weekly tutorials for children to complete.They decided to work on drawing people and portraits and they all benefitted hugely from the scheme.

To complete Arts Award Explore, children have four tasks, which involve experiencing Arts activities, finding out about an Artist and an Arts Organisation, creating their own artwork and sharing their experiences with others.  The children really enjoyed their time studying.
