Spring 2, Week 3 - Friday 14th March

What a busy week!  This week has been British Science Week and, although we had visitors in school looking at RE, we have also fitted in some great science lessons.  Year 6 have really enjoyed researching inventors and telling the class who they'd found out about and what their inventions were - among others, we had the inventors of the hairdryer, Lego, the air fryer, headphones and rice cookers.  It's surprising how long some things have been around - longer than you might think.  We have also enjoyed replicating how a 3D printer works by using syringes of PVA glue and sand (enjoyable but leads to a very sticky, sandy classroom!) and making catapults from lollysticks and elastic bands so we could fire pompoms across the room.  We still have a couple of lessons we couldn't fit in so we look forward to finishing off our Science Week next week.

Yesterday was the Year 6 Class Mass which was a really lovely end to a couple of particularly busy days.  A real moment of calm in this busy week.  The theme was Unity.  Well done, Year 6, you did yourselves proud and the singing was particularly beautiful.
