Spring 2, Week 4 - Friday 21st March
Another busy week draws to a close. This week, we completed our British Science Week work, looking at inventors and inventions and even making a vacuum cleaner from a plastic bottle! It was lovely to see so many parents at the school Science Fair, enjoying looking at all the work the children had done.
Today was all things poetry as we enjoyed celebrating World Poetry Day with a visiting poet, Neal Zetter. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to him performing some of his own poems in assembly. He then did a workshop with Year 6, writing poems starting He said.., She said... based on his own poem 'Brother vs Sister'. The children had a great time creating their own poems and performing them to the class.

In the afternoon, Year 6 spent time learning a poem and performing it for the class. We chose from Michael Rosen's poems, 'Down Behind the Dustbins', 'I Think' and 'Strict' (I wonder why they chose that one!). They all did a great job and it was so interesting to see the different ways in which each group interpreted and presented their chosen poem.
