What a busy week we have had in Reception!

This week our focus has been about celebrating Black History and Diversity amongst ourselves.

We read the story of 'Coming to England' by Floella Benjamin and how different it was for her coming from hot Trinidad to cold England. We looked at what we would pack if we were going to hot or cold countries. We looked at African patterns and we coloured and made our own patterns too.

We also read the story of the Smeds and the Smoos. We learnt that no one should stop us from doing things because of what we look like. We spoke about all our differences and similarities.

In maths we continued to count to 20 and began adding to 5.

We also went on an Autumn walk and collected autumnal findings and created our own collages of Autumn.

In Phonics we learnt the sounds o,c and k and the CEW I and to.
