Year 5 Music lesson 2

Welcome to your Music lesson.

  1. Please click the link below and watch the Viking Saga from BBC Schools Radio.  It tells the story of Odin – one of the Viking gods.

2. Because you are at home, where singing is permitted, please follow the link below and learn the Viking Saga Song.  “Loki, The Joker” was very popular with year 5 last year so I hope you will enjoy it as well.

3. There is a recurring rhythmic pattern in the chorus section of this song, which you may already have noticed.  (Crotchet, 2 quavers, Crotchet, Crotchet = “Walk, running, walk, walk.”)  Use this pattern to create your own short composition based on the Loki the Joker rhythm – you can use any instrument you have at home or perform it on a cup drum.  You can add other rhythms and put your own words in if you wish to.
