Class News 16.1.26

Somebody has been eating my porridge!
Wow another week over in Nursery ! It goes so fast when you’re having fun and what a fun and very busy week it has been! As part of our ‘Traditional Tales’ topic, we have been reading continuing to read Goldilocks and the three bears. We started with our Nursery class Baby Bear  teddy sitting next to his broken chair in our classroom.

Baby Bear  then began to retell the story. What had happened. We now have a  cottage in our role play area where the children have been making porridge using the different size bowls and spoons and sitting on different size chairs. They have enjoyed using the puppets , masks and props to act out and retell the story! We even made our own castle!

We also  have been sorting different sizes of bowls, chairs and beds into size order. To develop  our fine motor skills we have been making our own porridge bowls by decorating them with tissue paper and making a spoon to go with them. We also tasted porridge and made a pictogram  chart to show who liked it and who didn’t.  We was so pleased that they had a go and just tried it . In phonics we have been  learning the ‘s’, we have tried really hard to listen to the initial sound and  sort objects into each group depending on the sound.

Well done to our stars of the week Kavian and Jude and our learner of the week Patsy.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Vinci & Mrs Direnzo
