We are amazing!...

Another week has flown by in Nursery and we certainly have been busy!

We began our week in literacy reading 'Who are you?'. It is a book that explores all our similarities and differences, our likes and dislikes and how we are all amazing at lots of different things. Over the course of the week we discussed these and Nursery class are really amazing!

This week we have practicing our scissor control, we have been learning which colour scissors we use depending on our hand preference and how to hold them. The children had to follow and cut along different shape lines which also helped their hand and eye coordination. A good attempt by all and will be something we will be learning throughout the year.

In maths we have been continuing to sing our counting rhymes and songs, using our fingers to count on and we have been playing a tower game where the children had to roll the die, count the spots and build a tower.

We ended our week with our whole school 'Spanish Day'. The children all looked amazing in their red and yellow colours. We celebrated the day by learning two greetings for hello and goodbye, we looked at the Spanish flag and coloured and made our own, we watched some flamenco dancing online and had a go ourselves. We made fans to accompany our dancing and practiced folding and manipulating the paper. We finished our Spanish Day by being treated to some delicious Spanish biscuits called 'Pastissets de Menorca.

A big well done to our stars of the week Jasper and Emmanuel smiley

Next week we will begin our autumn topic - perhaps over the weekend when you are outside you can look for signs of autumn with your child smiley

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Vinci and Mrs Direnzo
