“Be filled with the Holy Spirit” ... Ephesians 5:18

We began our week continuing our under the sea theme by reading 'The Singing Mermaid' by Julia Donaldson.

The children enjoyed dressing up in mermaid costumes, seashells hiding pearls and other gems. In our small world area Nursery enjoyed playing with the dolls/mermaids, sea creatures and making up their own mermaid stories. We have been continuing our Phase 2 phonics and have been learning the 'd' sound. Some amazing letter formation too! We also continue with our numbers, counting and number formation - the children are working very hard at this. Nursery continue to enjoy their role play area - lots of ice creams being made in the ice cream parlour and fun at the beach side cafe. With the nice weather meant we were able to play in our big sand pit area! It was lovely to see the whole class all playing together, digging and building sandcastles. In RE we learnt about Pentecost and receiving of the Holy Spirit. Nursery made their own headbands with tongues of fire to represent receiving the Holy Spirit.
