How are we feeling today?...
Another fun packed week has flown by in Nursery! The children are all continuing to settle and learn all our nursery class routines and we are so proud at how they are all doing. This week our Nursery book was 'The Colour Monster' - it is a book that unpacks all our different emotions that we feel and try to make sense of them. We also use the colour monsters as our morning check in which you might have seen the children start to do as they come into class. Class check in is something we do as a whole school, where each child adds their name to a feeling. It is a way of a child letting us know how they have come into school that particular morning and how they might be feeling. Nursery are enjoying finding their photo, it also has their name to support with name recognition. We have done many activities around this book - the children used tweezers to pick up different coloured pom poms to match colours and develop their hand/eye coordination and to build strength in their hands to support pencil grip. In maths we have been singing our counting songs and using our fingers to match number to quantity and many counting activities. The children enjoy the padlock and key number activity.
Nursery also enjoyed making their own colour monsters with tissue paper and enjoyed gluing and sticking all different colours. While the weather has been dry we have been making their most of our outdoor area which the children really enjoy playing in and accessing all the different areas.
We celebrate our 'stars of the week' a well done to Tommy and Barbara 🤩🤩.
Thank you to those parents who have signed up to Class Dojo, if you could also create your child’s dojo with them if you haven’t done so already, as this is something we use in class to celebrate great behaviour! Many thanks.
We wish you all a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Vinci & Mrs Direnzo
