What makes a rainbow?
It has been another busy week but here are some of our highlights. Following on from last weeks text 'The Colour Monster', we have been continuing to think about different colours. We have been reading 'What makes a rainbow?’ which is a lovely story about a rabbit who talks about all the colours he loves. The children enjoyed the story and we talked about our favourite colours too. The children are all continuing to settle well and have been learning how to share, turn take and compromise as we make new friendships in Nursery. Lots of friendships are beginning to flourish, which is so lovely to see.
In maths we continue with our counting songs and rhymes and we have assessing the children's concept of number and quantity. We have been making our own colour monsters to support with our fine motor skills - the children enjoyed using the scissors to cut with and glue. In our outdoor area we have had some fantastic construction built - walls with ramps for cars, obstacle courses with crates and wooden planks. The children are very creative and imaginative! Many children have enjoyed the bike and scooter area - it has been wonderful to see their perseverance in getting their bike around the track sometimes with a friend on board. We were also very lucky this week to have the poet Neal Zetter visit us for poetry day where nursery got to preform a poem of his with reception class. Today was our feast day for St Francis, nursery were treated to a special biscuit treat to celebrate. What a busy but fun week Nursery 😊.
A big well done to our stars this week : Albert and Sebastian 🤩🤩
Have a wonderful weekend,
