“The joy of children makes their parents’ hearts leap and opens up the future. Children are the joy of the family and of society.”
                                                                                             Pope Francis

Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had an enjoyable Easter Holidays and are ready for our final summer term in Nursery. We were so pleased to see all our nursery children who, in two weeks have all grown!

We began our week with the very sad news of the passing of our Pope, Pope Francis. Nursery class attended our whole school assembly where we took time to think and reflect at the time of sadness.

New term new topic! We begin this term with our ‘Under the sea ‘ topic! During the Easter holidays we have been busy transforming our role play area into a seaside cafe with ice parlour, where you can take a deep sea diving tour and explore the ocean. The children have loved role playing and are having a great time with snorkels, googles, suitcases, sunglasses, ice creams to name a few things! We began by taking a dive ourselves into the ocean where we watched ocean life and began to discuss sea creatures we might find in our seas and oceans.  Nursery really enjoyed playing with our sea creatures and taking them on an adventure with pirate ships.
Our class book this week is ‘The Rainbow Fish’, it is about a beautiful fish with many beautiful, shiny scales but a fish without any friends. It is a story about sharing, kindness and friendship.
We have been continuing with our phase 2 phonics and our sound this week is ‘n’. We have also been continuing with our number rhymes and counting songs.

A big well done to our stars of the week 🤩 Amelia-Grace and Pietro and our Reading Trunki superstar Dion 🤩

We wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to another fun packed busy week.
