The day the dragons came!
Just another fun packed week in Nursery!
This week was National British Science Week, and we began by reading ‘The day the dragons came’. The dragons in the story represent humans and through a story it discusses the theme how we are effecting our planet and what we can do to look after it. We looked at different habitats e.g. forests, oceans, deserts, the Arctic and how animals are adapted to living in these terrains .
As we are in the time of Lent and preparing for Easter, Nursery have been thinking how we can can do more to help at this time as well as giving something up . The children made their own Lenten Promises which we have displayed on our Lenten Tree on our RE display. We also discussed the reason why we have the colour purple at this time on our class reflection table.
We have been so busy but we have learnt a new sound ‘i’ this week as part of our phase 2 phonics and we have been continuing to practice writing our names. Through rhymes and songs we continue to learn and practice our numbers and number formation. We have also enjoyed playing in our outdoor area with the beautiful sunshine we have had this week.
It was wonderful to see you all at our parent consultations and share the wonderful progress the children are making.
congratulations to our stars of the week Amelia and Oliver 🤩
Have a wonderful weekend!
