Please remember to read with your child daily and support them with understanding through comprehension of the text and not just decoding.

English:

We have been developing our sentence writing as we build up to writing our letters to Father Christmas next week.

Task: The children need to practise sentence writing by describing what they can see in the Christmas themed pictures. If possible, they can write more than one sentence or extend and join sentences using the words ‘and’, ‘but’ or ‘because’. Can they use one of our weekly spellings in their sentence?

Task: Christmas sentence/caption writing.

Maths:

We have been continuing to look at part whole models and finding the missing part of given amounts. We have also been developing our arithmetic skills and the maths mats sent for homework will continue to develop these skills.
