Hello and welcome back J

What a wonderful class of children year 1 are. I have really enjoyed getting to know this week and I can’t wait for the rest of the year with them.

In English we have been reading the story of the colour monster. We have discussed our feelings and role played different emotions that the colour monster was feeling. We ended our week with our first piece of sustained writing. The children wrote a letter to the colour monster with helpful ways to cheer him up.

Maths we have been looking at positional language. We have discussed left and right and then had a go at moving ourselves around the classroom, using positional language.

RE we have been discussing our families and who we have in our families. The children then draw a lovely picture of their families for out RE display.

Our topic significate explorers started this week and to launch the topic we heading off to explore the school. We used binoculars that we made in class.  I have attached some pictures for you to see J
