Class News 19.1.24

Friday again and the end of a very busy week!

This week we continued our RE topic, 'Special People', and Father John came in to talk about the roles of the special people at church.

In English, we finished our work on Stanley's Stick and wrote our own stories, imagining what adventures we could have if we found our own special sticks! There were lots of creative ideas from using it as a magic wand to change a sister into a puppy to a rocket, to fly to space and see aliens! Very exciting ideas!

In maths, we were finding equivalents and trying to balance sums to ensure that both sides had the same total. The children all worked so hard.

In Science we conducted an experiment to test whether a variety of objects would sink or float. The children all made fantastic predictions with some very thought out explanations.

Well done Year 1!

In History we began our 'How Toys Have Changed' topic and drew pictures of our favourite toys.

Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday
