Class News (16.12.22)

I can’t believe how quickly our first term together has flown by and that this has been our final week.  It’s been a rather strange one too with us all being snowed in and having to work from home. However, in true St Joseph’s style, everyone rose to the occasion and sent in work as well as lovely photos of snowmen!

Thankfully, we came back into school for the final three days of the term and spent our time finishing off our D&T project, visiting Santa in his Grotto, enjoying our Christmas lunch altogether and rehearsing our Carol Service for the last day of term!

Everyone worked really hard preparing for our Carol Service which was organised by Mrs Skelton with Ms Gunn assisting on the piano. This was the first time we could all come together to celebrate the Christmas story and it was a very special service indeed. It was a real pleasure to hear the children sing and I was very proud of Year 5. All the class sang beautifully, the readers read clearly and with lovely expression and the actors performed their parts excellently. The final song (‘Oh Come All Ye Faithful’) brought many a tear to adult eyes as the whole school sang it beautifully.

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for your lovely cards and gifts.  It was very kind and generous of you and much appreciated.  It’s been a pleasure to teach Year 5 and I’m looking forward to the rest of the year with them.

Have a very happy Christmastime and all the very best for the coming year. Take care and stay safe.

Very best wishes

Mrs Howard
