Class News, Year 6, Autumn 2, Week 4

The weeks really are flying by this term!  Year 6 have been working hard in English and enjoying the book we are currently basing our English work on.  They've loved looking at the different creatures and imagining some scenarios where the creature might appear and using prepositional phrases to add description to their writing.

In maths, we have moved on from multiplication to area.  In particular, we have looked at area of triangles why the formula is as it is.  We had a lovely time in Forest School this afternoon doing some real life maths, measuring the perimeter and trying to work out the area - it'll be interesting to see whether everyone has the same answer!

Well done to Year 6 for a beautiful class Mass yesterday - the first class Mass that we've had in our hall since 2019.  They read and sang so well and the Mass had a lovely, calm respectful atmosphere throughout.  Mrs Puntrello and I were both very proud of all of them.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for Mass - it's so lovely to get back to normal!
