Remote Learning (12.12.22)

Good morning Year 5

I hope you had a good weekend. It was a surprise to wake up this morning and see all the beautiful snow in the garden and streets where I live! School is closed today so I’ve set some work for you to do – please note that it is fun and optional. The work is posted on both the Dojo and Year 5 Class News on the school website.

Maths:

Please read the Bodmas poster to help you complete the Christmas Maths Mosaic puzzles. The Bodmas rule means completing any calculation in brackets first, order is finding the square of any numbers next, then division, multiplication, addition and finally subtraction.

English:

There’s a comprehension on Christmas Traditions or you can write a Christmas acrostic poem using one of the templates.  There’s a Christmas Acrostic poem power point to help you.

You can also practise your weekly spellings in readiness for our spelling test tomorrow.

Art: Please design and make your own Christmas hat for our Christmas lunch on Wednesday.  This was set for your weekly homework so you have an extra day to finish your design!  In addition, please make your own placemat for the lunch as well.

I’d love to see your work on the Dojo plus any photos of you if you go outside to see the snow!  Have a good day and stay warm.  I’ll be on the Dojo along with Mrs Direnzo if you need any support.

Very best wishes

Mrs Howard
