Well done year 4 for a great first full week back after the Christmas break.

This half term in RE, our topic is ‘community’. We’ve discussed what it means to be part of a community and why it is important. The children were able to identify some of the communities that they belong to.

We are reading Alice in Wonderland in English and looking at playscripts. Today we practised reading one aloud and next week we will have a go at writing our own playscripts and then acting them out!

In maths, we have been converting units of measurement to solve word problems. We found this a bit tricky but have shown great resilience but continuing to practise so well done!

In PE, we are starting to learn how to play hockey. We had our first lesson, where we learned how to dribble and control the ball using the hockey stick. Then we had a go at passing the ball to someone else.
