Class News, Year 6, Autumn 2, Week 6
It's been another busy week in Year 6 and possibly not the most popular week of the term as it has been assessment week and Year 6 have completed practice papers in reading, arithmetic and reasoning. The children have worked extremely hard and should all be very proud of themselves as everyone has made improvements since the last papers we did.
It hasn't all been hard work though as, throughout the school, it has also been DT week and our project for the week was a 'Come Dine With Me' topic. The children worked in groups to research recipes and decide what they wanted to do with their three key ingredients (peppers, chicken and peaches) to make a starter, main and dessert. They have also looked at where the ingredients come from, using the Tesco 'From Farm to Fork' project. We had a great time today, creating four different starters and mains, then trying them out and marking them. On Tuesday, the last groups will be making desserts and we'll see which our most popular dishes are. Well done, Year 6 for a fun and productive morning today!
