Week 4

This week Year 5 have been working hard.

In English, we have been looking at non-chronological reports based on monsters and mythical creatures. There are different types of features in non-chronological reports. In particular, we have been looking at sentence structure. A lot of last week, we focused on subordinating clauses, main clauses and coordinating. Next week, we will be looking at parenthesis.

In maths, we have been focusing on negative numbers. We have been looking at how the number, when going into negative numbers, gets bigger but the value gets smaller. We have been using negative numbers in real life looking at graphs and the weather.

In RE, we have focused a lot on Saint Paul's writings. We have focused on the scripture that tells us what qualities we should have and why it is important that we develop this qualities.

In science, we have focused on materials, looking at what materials are soluble and insoluble. We tested different materials such as: jelly, marshmallows, coffee, tea, sugar, honey, chocolate powder and sprinkles. We are going to test next week, if these can be irreversible.
