Class News - S1 - Week 2

A very busy and exciting first full week back!

Firstly, I should start by mentioning that our letter to the Prime Minister was sent on Monday, and we are eagerly awaiting a reply!

We have fully emerged this week in our first poetry unit this term, called ‘The Lost Words." It has been amazing to bring back forgotten words that we can now replicate in other work. We looked at acrostic poems and then created our own based on The Goldfinch. I’m looking forward to seeing all your homework on this so we can add to our ‘window of words’.Have a look at our poems based on The Lost Words. I have also sent these to the authors of the book and am waiting for a reply. I will update you all on their reply.

This week in Math, we have started learning about the conversion of different units. We have looked at mm, cm, m, and km, which is also what the homework is this week. We will, continue this next week by looking at ml, l, mg, and g. We will be starting our new TTRS booklet, focusing on the six timetables.

We have started our new RE topic this week called "community." We have been looking at what this means and what communities we are part of. Next week, we will look at what it means to be part of a Christian community.

Unfortunately, it rained a lot last week, so we couldn’t get into the forest school for our first science lesson. Please bring the right clothes and footwear for WEDNESDAY so that we can change and don’t have to worry about getting muddy. Thank you!

Congratulations to this week's stars:

Aria and Krystian

Well done to Ella, our writer!
