Hola, bonjour, guten tag, salve, nǐn hǎo, hello from Year 2!

This year we have tried to give our children the best international week we have ever done! The children loved seeing you all within school again tasting different foods and experiencing different cultures. We started of the week dressing up in cultural clothes and looking at the photos, everyone looked amazing! We then looked at flags from other countries and wrote about the amazing things we knew about these countries. On Wednesday we learnt an Italian dance- please watch the video! It was amazing! We then started making Chinese lanterns and some art. Our final day was amazing! We joined in the hall for our final celebrations and watched all the other year groups perform what they had learnt.

In Maths this week, we have been looking at subtraction with two two-digit numbers with regrouping. We have been working really hard on this! Next week we will be looking at the time to the nearest 15 minutes and 5 minutes.

In English this week, we have been looking at a new version of Rapunzel and how the story is slightly different. We will be comparing two different versions of the story and then writing the ending the week after.

In Topic this week, we have looked at the different types of transports and how these have evolved over the years. Next week, we will be looking at a female and why it is important to understand what she did.

We have done a lot of reading this week. The children have done really well and they have all come on so fair with their reading! Well done Year 2!
