Year 6, Autumn 1, Week 1

Welcome back to school and to the Autumn Term and welcome to Year 6.  It has been lovely this week to see how well Year 6 have started their new year and to see how seriously they are taking their place as role models for the rest of the school.  They all look really smart and their behaviour matches their smart appearance.

We had a lovely afternoon with Reception class on Wednesday, getting to know the younger children so that we can put buddies together.  Over the next few weeks, they'll spend some time doing some activities together before introducing their buddies to the whole school in Buddy Assembly.

Well done to all the children who put themselves forward for the role of House Captain as they spoke very well in front of their whole house this morning, which is quite daunting for anyone to do.  Each house voted and House Captains have been chosen and were announced this afternoon in Celebration assembly.  Congratulations to:

Rose (captain) and Carmen (vice-captain) - Matthew House

Ava (captain) and Xhemil (vice-captain) - Mark House

Aanya (captain) and Kiaan (vice-captain) - Luke House

Harry (captain) and Michael (vice-captain) - John House

I'm sure they'll do an excellent job and, of course, their Year 6 peers will support them.

It's been a great start this week, Year 6, so I look forward to how the rest of the term will unfold.
