Year 6, Autumn 2, Week 7
What a fantastic DT week Year 6 have had! The theme of the week was Come Dine With Me. They worked in teams of six; then within each team, one pair was in charge of the starter, the second pair did the main and the third did the dessert. Their first task was to research and find a recipe that suited their star ingredient and their own skills. Then the real fun began as each day a different set of pairs prepared and cooked their recipe for the whole class to try. Each dish was then given a score.
Day 1 - Starters with red peppers as the star ingredient.
Day 2 - Mains with chicken as the star ingredient
Day 3 - Desserts with tinned peaches as the star ingredient
It's been a wonderful week (although there was a lot of washing up every day!) with some great teamwork. I think everyone has enjoyed this particular DT week and maybe some children will even try their recipes at home with their families.
