Class News - S2 - Week 3
We have had an exciting week this week with swimming, forest school, our penitential rite service, CCC assembly and welcoming our newest member of Year 4, Mr. Gecici, who will be with us for the next couple of weeks.
In English this week, we have started looking at play scripts and how they are different from narrative writing. We got stuck right in and had a go at acting out a scene from Alice in Wonderland, and we will be looking at the stage clip and the film and comparing them. Next week, we are looking at how to change a narrative into a play script and vice versa.
We have started looking at decimals in math this week. We looked at place value, including tenths and hundredths, regrouping of decimal numbers, and ordering them. We will continue looking at these next week and start looking at how they relate to fractions! My favorite!
In science, we went to the forest school and found loads of different vertebrates (animals without a backbone), which was super fun! We found so many different types of insects that we recorded them in a table and will be classifying them next week and looking at the environment.
In RE, we have started looking at the order of mass. We have created a booklet, which we intend to take to mass, outlining the different parts of the mass, why they are significant, and the symbols. We will be creating these over the next couple of weeks, and I hope to post a video with the children reading and explaining them.
We continued looking at the Amazon Rainforest for our geography this week. We have focused on the different layers of the Amazon Rainforest. We have learned the names of each layer and what is in them. We will continue this next week.
We have been looking at spreadsheets in our computing lessons and will continue to do this into next week.
