Year 6, Spring 1, Week 3

This week we have worked on BIDMAS (order of operations) in maths before moving on to angles.  We investigated to see whether it was true that opposite angles, where two lines intersect, are the same (they are).  We'll be moving on to finding missing angles next week.

Today we started the day attending the 10am Mass at Church.  Then our science experiment was to see whether we could use a lemon, lime or potato to replace the cell in a circuit and light a bulb or make a buzzer sound.  Points for trying and for perseverance, Year 6, but we were unsuccessful.  If anyone wants to have a go at home and make a success of it, please do!  Our conclusion is that copper coins do not have enough copper in for it to work, so a zinc nail, copper wire, a lemon, 2 wires and a bulb should do it.  Good luck!
