Welcome back, everyone; I hope you had as exciting a half term as I did in frozen Norway!

It has, as usual, been a busy week.  Year 6 have been straight back into some hard work as we’ve tackled long division of 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers.  I know some children have found it really challenging but have persevered and, as I say to them about a lot of formal methods – these methods have been around for years and they work, so just follow the method!  On to multiplication of fractions next week, which I’m sure everyone is looking forward to!

In English, we’ve been story-writing, finishing off the suspense unit and practising using dialogue as a tool to move the story on, not just a way to demonstrate understanding of inverted commas.

We have started our new RE topic of Unity, with the children creating some lovely friendship recipes and poems plus decorated hands for our display.
