Year 6 - our last week

And so, we made it to the end of a busy week, the end of a busy term and the end of Year 6's time at St Joseph's.  It's sad to say goodbye but what a lot we packed into our final week together!  The production was outstanding - well done to every single member of the class for their contribution, however big or small.  Our Leavers' Mass was lovely and very moving.  A special well done to the readers and soloists.

Other than that, what can I say to finish this year, other than a big thank you to all of you for your kind gifts, cards and words on Friday.  Also, thank you for the support you have given over the three years that I have taught this class.  What a pleasure and a privilege to be able to teach my lovely class for three out of four years.  And what a joy to see how they have progressed and matured.

To my Year 6 pupils, it's been such fun teaching you and we've had some great laughs and good times over the three years we've been together.  I hope you have as many wonderful memories as I have.  This year, in particular, you have worked so hard and made me so proud in your attitude to the SATs and in your amazing production and Leavers' Mass, as well as your buddy time, work in Chaplaincy and other contributions to school life.  To all of you who have been in my choir, especially those who've stuck with it from Year 3 to the end of Year 6, thank you!  You have been outstanding and have left a big hole for the current Year 5 and Year 4 to step into.

I wish you all, parents and children, a wonderful summer together before your next big step of starting secondary school.  You're all ready for that step, Year 6; head into it with your current enthusiasm and willingness to take every opportunity offered and you will all fly high.  Don't forget to come back and visit us; and if you see me around, come and say hello and tell me all your news.  I will miss you all very much.
With very best wishes
Mrs Skelton
