CLASS NEWS

what an incredible week we have had this week. We had our story tellers in, whole class assemblies and reflection time dedicated to our British Black person who has contributed to our society and communities.

But it was the end of the week that came to life, on Friday we had a very special assembly where we shared all of our learning throughout the week, from songs, poems, stories, art work and so much more.

A huge thank you to our parents who came in wearing their traditional clothing, you definitely owned that cat walk!! Thank you for explaining about your outfits and the patterns within them. A well done to all of our children who come in too wearing their beautiful garments too!

In year 2 this week we learnt about different countries where our children come from in our class

  • Grandad Mandela - a story from the view of his grandchildren, his fight for justice against the apartheid law. This is where Maxwell's dad is from, he was born in South Africa and came over to England when he was an adult.
  • Coming to England - a story book about the Windrush voyage by Floella Benjamin. This is where Callum's nanny came from and she made the same voyage as Floella to England too.
  • Kente Designs - This is a traditional Ghanaian design and we replicated these designs in class. Michelle and Dasha's family are from Ghana.

A lovely week celebrated by all.

Finally, a special well done to our two amazing stars...TADIWA & GEORGE L!!

A huge well done to our writer this week...OLIVIA S

Lastly well done to HOPE who gained our St Francis Academy award this week

Have a wonderful weekend!
