WEEK 4

What a busy week!

This week we have completed our English unit by creating our own biographies of significant people. We have written and edited and are ready for publishing next week. We will also start our new 2-week unit next week, which I am really excited about!

In guided reading, we are looking at snippets of new texts, which I hope will encourage the children to choose new and updated texts to carry on reading! I am super excited!

In Maths this week, we have continued to focus on fractions. We have looked at applying our fraction knowledge to converting improper and mixed fractions in the context of word problems. We will continue with fractions next week by looking at equivalent fractions with different denominators.

During our other faith weeks, we have focused on Shikism. Our focus was Baisakhi, which is the Sikhs' celebration and their harvest festival, and it takes place in April (the harvest in India is at a different time from Britain). It is celebrated with music and dance. Sikhs also celebrate this festival as the birthday of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, who founded the Khalsa (the Sikh brotherhood) in 1699.

We also created our own raps for online safety awareness. I will record some of these on Monday for you to watch; they're all brilliant!!

Well done to the stars and writer.
