Class News - Week 5

Congratulations, Year 4! What a lovely day celebrating your first holy communion. On behalf of the staff, it was a pleasure to be a part of your very special day.

In English this week, we have been looking at expanded noun phrases and why we use them. We will continue with this next week and delve into inverted commas and planning our Roman myth.

In maths, we have started a new unit. We have been looking at what mental strategies (see pictures) would be best to work out certain equations.

Through the use of sources, we have looked at the reasons for Emperor Claudius' invasion of Britain. We have looked at different extracts of text from books and are trying to find the most important reasons for the invasion. We then took this information and made our own paragraph to send to a publishing company to explain our reasons. Who’s will be published?

This week has been Judaism week. We have been learning about the Jewish faith and their Holy Book. We have written an information text based on the Torah and how it is used.

We have written stories about how a mars bar would travel through the digestive system, but with a TWIST! We were the Mars bar. Please have a look at the stories below as they are incredible and I’m super proud of their writing and scientific knowledge.

Next week is Art Week and Assessment Week; these will be entwined through lessons.

Well done for a lovey week year 4! I'm looking forward to next week.
