Hello everyone. The end of another busy week in Year One!

In maths this week we reinforced using tens frames and part whole model to make 20. The children had to identify the tens and ones in their given number.

In English we have been ‘up-levelling’ our sentences. The children had to fix sentences and then up-level them, by adding more detail to make them more interesting. The children worked very hard to use adjectives and conjunctions to extend their sentences.

We continued our science topic, Plants, this week by learning about the different flowers we might find in our gardens and then drawing our own gardens.

In History we compared firefighters from the Great Fire to firefighters today. The children are really enjoying learning all about the Great Fire!

I have sent home a pack of alien and real words for the children to practise ready for the end of year screening test. Please do encourage your child to read and re-read in preparation for the test. Thank you.
