Class News - S1 - Week 4

Together, together, together, everyone…

What a ‘community’ Year 4 are!

We had a normal start to our week on Monday with English and Maths. We completed our Maths topic on data by looking at the difference between discrete and continuous data. We have really challenged ourselves this week by creating our own bar and line graphs. We then moved on to discussing what perimeter is and how to work it out. We have looked at finding the perimeter of rectangles with missing lengths and used our shape knowledge to help. We will continue this next week by finding the perimeter of rectilinear shapes.

We then started our assembly practise, which was brilliant! In such a short time, Year 4 were able to pull off the most amazing assembly ever! I am so proud of them, and I hope they are proud of themselves. We learned so much about what a community is, what makes a community, and the important people that run them. We even looked at how other religious communities were formed. It’s so important to belong to different communities because that’s what brings people "together."

For the rest of the week, we used sources to find out why the Anglo-Saxons invaded Britain and what evidence we have to prove it. We also had a very important visitor on Thursday, Fr. John. He came and spoke to us about how the parish community runs and the qualities and skills you need to be a priest for a job description that we will be creating.

Well done to our writer and stars of the week:
