Year 6, Summer 1, Week 5

We've made it to half term!  And of course, we're all excited about going on residential when we come back.  This week has, as ever, been a busy one.

In maths, we've perfected the art of drawing pie charts before moving on to some work on algebra and the nth term in a sequence.  English this week has been based on the book Hermelin the Detective Mouse, which is a lovely, fun story.  We have been summarising and writing descriptions and will be continuing work using this book when we return from residential.

It's been an eventful week with the May Procession on Wednesday, Ascension Day Mass yesterday and Jubilee celebrations today.  Year 6 had written the story of the Wedding of Cana for their contribution to the May Procession and Kamil read his out - it really stuck in the minds of Year 1 who impressed Father John by remembering the whole story today, so well done to Kamil for writing so well.  Although Year 4 led the Mass yesterday, I could clearly hear Year 6 leading the singing in all the hymns, so well done everyone.

Today Year 6 have made crowns and enjoyed the street party in the playground with the rest of the school.  Well done to those children who were leading games for the younger ones.  I'm sure there will be lots of Jubilee photos on the main page of the website.

Happy half term everyone.  Have a lovely break and I'll look forward to seeing everyone with their neatly packed suitcases on Monday 6th June!
