Christmas Card competition for Key Stage 2 children

We are still accepting entries for this competition – it would be lovely to have a few more entries to send.  Please get designing and bring your cards into school on Monday morning. Miss Gunn will collect from classes. This is a very worthy cause and I really look forward to seeing your cards.

While we are all thinking about Remembrance and all the people from the armed forces who help protect us, it is important to think about how we can give a little something back. Here is a lovely idea about how we can do this.

Please watch the video below and get designing. Remember, your Christmas card needs to reflect the work that the Armed forces do and to include the special message as detailed below. Your card and message should bring a little happiness into their day if they are spending Christmas away from their families and loved ones.

Hertfordshire Heroes Christmas Art Competition 2020

Video produced by Northwood HQ

To enter the competition:

  1. Children should draw a Christmas picture which incorporates how the military supports us. The video above is from Northwood HQ and explains the competition. Alternatively, you can view examples on the MOD website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-support-force-the-mods-contribution-to-the-coronavirus-response
  2. As part of their artwork, children should include the phrase, ‘Wishing our military heroes a Merry Christmas from St. Joseph’s School’.

When you have completed your card design, please email a photograph or scanned version of it to:

arts@stjosephs351.herts.sch.uk

If you are unable to send it digitally, please give it to your teacher with your first name, age and class written neatly on the back.

Entries must be completed and submitted no later than 19th November 2020.
