Year One News 17/9/21

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a great week. Friday again so here is this week’s class news.

Another busy week in Year One.

In English we have been learning how to write labels, lists and captions.  We have also been reinforcing the use of capital letters and full stops when we write a sentence.

In maths we have been reinforcing our knowledge of positional language and extended it to ordinal numbers. The children were all so fantastic and were able to identify whether something was 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

In science we have been looking at seasonal changes now that autumn is upon us. Today we visited Forest School and looked at autumnal changes as we went. While we were there we looked for minibeasts and even found a tiny frog, which was the highlight of our visit! We will be visiting Forest School for the next two Fridays so please ensure your child comes to school wearing suitable, old clothes for forest school and also to bring in a pair of wellies. Thank you.

Here is this week’s homework sheet. Homework has been sent home in the purple homework books.

Enjoy some photos from this week and have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Carpineta
