Year 6, Spring 1, Week 4
The weeks are flying by and we’re nearly at half term already!
In English this week, we have used two short stories from the book ‘Short Too’ to help us to focus on the features of a spooky, suspense story. We’ve looked at breaking a story down, retelling it and trying to use voices to create atmosphere and tension. Children then planned their own short, suspense stories which we’ll be writing next week.
Maths this week has moved on from just BIDMAS (order of operations) to algebra and finding the unknown in an equation. It seemed difficult to the children at first but they’ve persevered and it’s proved to be less tricky than they expected.
We are now coming to the end of our RE topic of Sources. This has been one that everyone has found interesting as we delved deeper into the Bible.
Finally, well done to the Chaplaincy Team for working so hard and creating such a lovely display for the hall on Saving the Earth.
