Year 6, Autumn 1, Week 6
This week in Year 6 we have completed some reading and maths assessments. This helps to see where any gaps are, as well as helping the children to become comfortable with the style of SATs papers and to practise their time management.
In science, we have been learning about the heart and circulatory system, so yesterday the class 'made blood'. Don't worry - no-one was harmed in the making of our blood - we didn't use anything more dangerous than Cheerios and marshmallows! But it was interesting for them to see blood as it would look under a microscope and to understand the proportions of the different components and the job of each. Ask your child how much they can remember and explain to you about blood and the heart.
