Class News, Year 6, Autumn 2, Week 1
The half term break flew by in a flash and here we are in the second half of the Autumn Term! This week, we have picked up where we left off in maths by continuing our work on everyone's favourite - fractions. We are now looking at comparing and ordering fractions by using common denominators as well as using common denominators to add and subtract fractions. Everyone has had a really good attempt at these this week so it's been a really positive week in maths.
In English, we are completing our work on Wisp by planning and writing our own stories using metaphors for hope. We have also done some work for the Remembrance display. Year 6 wrote letters onto watercolour paintings that they had done based on the work of Hannah Dunnett and have produced some really beautiful work.
The Chaplaincy Team have been busy at break-times selling poppies and other merchandise for The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, so don't forget to support this very worthwhile cause.
