Year 6, Spring 1, Week 1
Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and a good break.
We're straight back into work in Year 6. In English, we have started using a new book as our writing stimulus, called 'Talking History - 150 Years of Speakers and Speeches'. It's going to be an interesting read and should provoke lots of thought and generate some great persuasive speeches. Maths this week has focused on long multiplication, revising and practising it so that children are really confident.
We have finished our science topic of Evolution and Inheritance and have started the new topic of Electricity, which everyone should find interesting and exciting. We have also completed our geography topic and moved on to the history topic, What does the census tell us about our local area?'
This afternoon, we finished our Once Upon a Onesie Day with some buddy time, reading and sharing stories, which everyone enjoyed.
