England does the daily mile!
“We want as many primary schools around England to get moving on the same day, to celebrate the positive benefits that daily activity can have on our mental health.”
In light of the events in the past year, children’s mental health, and its relation to physical activity, is more important than ever.
Today at St Joseph’s we took part in this very important initiative, combining it with our usual Fit in 15 session and extending the time we allocated for jogging. More than 1780 schools and more than half a million children across the country took part!
We also saw video introductions and a warm up from athlete Toby Garbett. Read more about Toby below:
It was an enjoyable event for all the children and it was lovely to be able to have a (virtual) visit from an real Olympian to inspire us to work even harder at our fitness.
