Heroes, ice cream and a spider called Spinderella... !!

Just to name a few of the things that have happened this week!

On Monday our Trust Charity Week got off to a fantastic start with Nursery coming dressed as their favourite hero!

The children all looked amazing in their costumes! On Wednesday it was Nursery's turn to help raise some money towards our charity event. We started off the morning decorating our Easter biscuits - there was icing, sprinkles and smarties galore!! They all looked absolutely delicious and as you can imagine the children really enjoyed eating them! We then turned Nursery into a mini disco - all the children chose a song to dance too, we had George Ezra - Green Grass, Mr Moon from the film Sing, Speechless from Aladdin, Peppa Pig medley,  I like to move it move it, Who let the dogs out and a big favourite Let it go from Frozen. Lots of great moves, the Nursery children can definitely dance!! A big well done smiley

A massive thank you too Parents and Carers, for your generous contributions towards supporting our Charity Week.

It is very appreciated.

We also celebrated the feast day of Saint Josephs this week and it was lovely to see so many of you at our whole school Mass. There were many fun activities planned - Year 4 visited Nursery and together the children were able to make a        St. Joseph card or a white Lily flower. The ice cream van also made a visit to the school playground where every child received an ice cream with sprinkles as a special treat to celebrate.

Amongst all this we have still been busy learning and our minibeast this week was 'Spinderella' the spider who wants to learn her numbers just like Nursery. We have been learning about spiders, how many legs they have, how many eyes and how they spin webs. We have also been continuing to practice our phase 2 phonic sounds which the children are all really doing well with and confident to attempt writing too.  As part of our RE topic 'Growing' we went on a Spring walk around our school. We saw many signs of spring, lots of daffodils, some Tulips and Croci and white blossom. lots of buds of new life starting to pop up.

One more week to go before the Easter holiday's and is sure to be another busy and fun packed one!

Have a restful weekend!
