This week in History we had created our timelines for Mayans and added what was happening in Britain at the same time during this period.
In Maths we have continued looking at percentages and how to calculate percentages of amounts by using our base facts:
100 % = 28
To find:
50% = 1/2 the number =28 ÷ 10 = 14
25% = 1/2 50% = 14 ÷ 2 = 7
75% = add 50% and 25% - 14+7=21
10% = ÷ by 10 = 28 ÷ 10 = 2.8
1% = ÷ by 100 = 28 ÷ 100 = 0.28
5% = 1/2 of 10% = 1.4
We can then use this information to find 36% of 28.
25% + 10% + 5% + 1% =
7 + 2.8 + 1.4 + 0.28
We have continued reading our End of Day book 'Boy in the Tower' and using it for our English lessons. We finished Pig Heart Boy an it was FANTASTIC. We had some tears towards the end but what a gripping book. We are loving our new boy and excited to finish it!
