WEEK 1

Welcome back everyone!

I hope you all had a fab week off soaking up the lovely summer sun! ☀️ Here's a peek at what we've been getting up to this week:

In maths, we've dived headfirst into the world of angles and we're smashing it! Next up, we'll be getting to grips with using a protractor to measure those angles. It's all about precision, folks!

In English, we created our own D-Day war poems which are really thoughtful. We will be continuing with Poetry next week with Assonance poems. The academy also launched their final summer competition based on poetry. We are really going to go for this, I would love to see our Year 5s win first place!

We completed our last topic of History this week. All the projects are looking brilliant! If you haven't handed them in, please do so by Monday latest as we will be putting them on display for our topic evening.

In RE, this week, we have started looking at freedom and responsibility. Our big question caused a bit of a debate - 'Do rules bring freedom?'. Very exciting to see where this will take us.

We have started our new Geography topic called deserts by looking at biomes.

In PE, we have started our new topic - athletics. PE will be held on Mondays and Fridays again this term.

We have continued our Science topic for two more weeks for living things and their habitats. We will look at plants next week.

Competition - Inter-house TTRS competition (Year 5 vs Y6) Matthew, Mark, Luke, John - who will win points for their house?

Let's gear up for another exciting and productive week ahead!

Well done Stars and Writers this week :)
