Hello everyone,  

It has been a pleasure getting to know the year 1 children. They are settling in very well. It was lovely to meet some of you at meet the teacher and I am looking forwards to seeing you again in the near future.  

In English, we have been looking at a book called Tuesday. It has very little written words but lots of pictures about the day the frogs went for an adventure on flying lily-pads. We have been retelling the story and will be doing some sustained writing such as report writing and letter writing.  

In Maths we have been looking as positional language. We have done a lot of practical work for this topic such as moving left, right, and quarter turns.  

For RE, we have been discussing families and why we have them. We all love our families very much!

Our topic for History is ‘toys of the past’. We will be launching the topic with a show and tell, there they are encouraged to bring in one of their toys from home.
